Summer in full swing

Despite how often some of my nor-cal friends complain about the LA smog, it does really suck to not have a car here. I waste about 2 hours a day going back and forth to UCLA via public transportation. Trust me, if Powell was still open at night during the summer I would bring a sleeping bag. Chinese class is tedious, fun, and challenging at the same time. That said, I think I'll bring a gameboy to lecture tomorrow or something; anything to keep me from falling asleep again (as I do everyday). This is the one class I feel bad falling asleep in. Chem? Quality midday nap. Math? Quality early morning nap. But this class, the guilt..the guilt (maybe b/c I feel some wierd cultural duty to actually learn chinese).

So there's my summer, 4 hours of class everday followed by either 4 more hours of either work or volunteering. Oh how I envy those ppl whose summer consists of A) surfing in Hawaii, B) backpacking through Europe, C) learning gourmet dishes in Mongolia, D) soaking in Japanese hot springs, or any combination of the above. And if you are one of these people, why didn't you take me along? I could have carried your luggage or something. :)

In other news, I'm very creeped out by the news that China is planning to launch pig sperm into orbit and study its effects. Of course, we can all guess the reason: the government is going to artificially inseminate a clone army to take over the world from space. Obviously. And if you disagree you are wrong of course.
